Julia’s first experience tutoring started in her senior year of college at UC Davis, where she was selected to teach organic chemistry to student athletes. Later, she was promoted to host weekly small group sessions as the head tutor. After graduating Cum Laude from UC Davis, Julia pursued a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at UC Davis.
At UC Davis, she taught various class sizes, ranging from small discussions to big lecture halls. She took pride in ushering her students through the complexities of organic chemistry, and she had became quite adept at delivering complex information in a clear and effective manner. However, despite her experiences in classroom settings, Julia still found having one-on-one sessions with her students most rewarding. Having completed her Master degree, she now has the pleasure of working for ESM doing what she loves while applying to medical schools.
As a teacher, Julia makes a point to get to know her students so she can be both a tutor and a mentor. As an educator, she not only teaches materials to help her students achieve their ideal scores, she also encourages them to take ownership over the learning process. Julia believes in helping her students foster independent thinking through problem solving. In addition to chemistry, she has plenty of experience working with students in Mathematics, Physics, and Biology. Additionally, she is well equipped to help her students to excel in the SAT’s, ACT’s, and Chinese.
