Russell Curry was born and raised in the quiet Los Angeles suburb of Rancho Cucamonga, California. Growing up, Russell always had a strong affinity for music and the arts and was encouraged by his parents to excel academically.
After high school, Russell attended UC Irvine where he majored in biological sciences and became very involved in student activism, performing musically, and acting in small parts on TV shows in Los Angeles.
Since graduating in 2009, Russell has spent nearly his entire career serving students – first as an admissions counselor for UC Irvine and now as a tutor and academic mentor with ESM Prep.
Russell believes that establishing a relationship of encouragement and trust with his students is key to their success. He has experience tutoring AP Biology, chemistry, physics, Spanish, algebra, and geometry. In addition, Russell works with students as a college counselor and ACT and SAT instructor.
In his free time, Russell enjoys acting, traveling, spontaneous drum circles, and also serving as Communications Director for The PH8 Foundation, a nonprofit he started with several friends that is dedicated to ending the global water crisis.
