There are two things you should know about Valentin: his passion for Mathematics and his love of music.
Valentin was born in Paris and grew up in Rome. He went to the French school of Rome (Lycée Chateaubriand) and passed his Scientific Baccalaureate with flying colours. After graduation, he moved back to Paris to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at Paris Sud University, staying there for 2 years, before moving onto the University of Illinois-Chicago to complete his degree.
Throughout all his travels, the most enlightening experience he had was studying in Chicago. He loved the way professors taught, the way he could talk to them over coffee for hours, and the way they genuinely cared about students. Following a suggestion from one of his professors, he began tutoring mathematics (in all its glorious forms) to students in the years below at University.
After Chicago, Valentin moved to London to pursue a Master’s degree in Mathematics of Cryptography and Communications at Royal Holloway University of London, where he obtained his degree with honours.
When he finished his Master’s degree, Valentin wanted to work with students again. He started as an educational assistant at the Lycee Français Charles de Gaulle in London, to learn how to effectively work with kids and teenagers. Later, he created a position as a teaching assistant in Mathematics, helping the students who struggled the most in the final year of high school.
All of these experiences have led Valentin to ESM, where he found that the company’s ethics delighted him. Finally, a company that supports students unconditionally, where doing more is always appreciated, and where time isn’t just money. His experience with the students at ESM has been incredible, as he built relationships with students and families that will remain for a lifetime.
Valentin is always sad to see a student grow up, pass his tests, and go study in a far-off university. However, to be a part of a student’s education is one of the greatest honours he feels he will ever be entitled to have.
