Ben is a Bostonian born and bred, who spent his formative years riding duck boats and visiting Plymouth Rock for school trips (worst field trip ever). He is a huge sports fan and dreamer, as he holds out hope that Boston can hold all four major sports titles at the same time.
He braved further cold to attend Carnegie Mellon University where, after stints as an English, Math, and Engineering major, Graduated with a B.S. in Applied Physics. Looking for better weather and to play with lasers, he took a job with a Navy research lab in San Diego after school.
Wanting to turn his passion projects into real consumer products, Ben enrolled at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and is currently working on a startup that does directional mesh networking technology for internet service providing.
Ben works with students in the subjects of ACT and SAT prep, physics, and math. Ben has been tutoring since he was a freshman in high school and his experience has taught him that connection comes first. Cultivation of independence and empowerment give his mentees the skills and mindset to succeed at life beyond the test.
Ben’s happy place is when he is juggling a soccer ball with strangers-turned-friends in some far away country.
