Helena graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in biology and studio art. She was born and raised in Seattle, where she spent many great days swimming in Lake Washington with her extended family members close by. Helena just moved to San Francisco and is currently working as a freelance graphic designer for the World Bank Group and other clients.
Helena has always loved school, and she is excited to be tutoring a wide variety of subjects including chemistry, biology, english, and French. In high school she learned that she benefit a great deal from wonderful mentors in her life and from being a mentor for her younger brother and cousins. She was also an informal mentor to many underclassmen as captain of the coed tennis team.
At Dartmouth, Helena took a wide variety of classes, but focused on biology and science courses as well as oil painting and printmaking. She especially loved doing ecological field work abroad in Costa Rica and the Cayman Islands. Helena threw herself into both intensely logical science work and deeply creative art practice. Outside of her course work, Helena loved building community as a leader of her a cappella group the Dartmouth Subtleties. Helena believes that a kind and compassionate approach helps mentees realize their unique potential.
