Katherine grew up in Chicago, and although she is very proud to call the city home, she has traveled and worked around the world since then. After graduating magna cum laude from Brown University with a A.B. in Middle East Studies, she moved to Cairo where she worked as a Presidential Intern at the American University in Cairo. After living in Egypt for a year, she returned to America, working as a Junior Fellow in the Middle East Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Katherine recently completed an M.A. in Arabic and Near & Middle Eastern Studies at SOAS, University of London.
Katherine began working in youth mentorship as a counselor at Seeds of Peace, a summer camp that brings together youth from global conflict regions to engage in dialogue. Her tutoring career started during her time as an undergraduate at Brown University where she worked as a Writing Fellow in a peer tutoring program where students received training to work with their fellow undergraduates on academic essays and writing skills. This experience, as well as serving as editor-in-chief of the Brown Journal of World Affairs, greatly contributed to her work at ESM where she specializes in College Coaching, ACT/SAT tutoring, as well as AP English and History.
