Academic Mentorship
John Dewey
Erik began his educational pursuits in early high school, where—as a low-income student—he recognized how deeply education could empower otherwise hopeless students. Since then, removing boundaries for others through teaching has been a moral duty and passion for him.
Erik has been teaching and tutoring consistently ever since. Even through various research positions at universities and software development internships at companies like Bloomberg L.P. and TE Subcom, Erik is always heavily drawn back to teaching, enthusiastic to share what he has learned with his students.
Having studied computer science at Cornell University, Erik has experience teaching a myriad of STEM-based subjects, like computer science, physics, and all levels of math (up to advanced calculus). Similarly, Erik has worked with students in other topics like SAT prep, writing, and college application guidance. Above all, Erik's focus is always on long-term mentorship and building strong relationships with all of his students, to ensure they can reach their full potential.
In his free time, Erik loves spending time outdoors and hiking. He is also very committed to health and fitness, and he is a certified personal trainer!
