Ashwini is a Master's student at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. She has had many years of experience as a tutor and mentor, and loves learning about science and sharing her passion. Ashwini graduated from the University of San Francisco in December 2023 with a degree in Biology, and during her time there she worked as a Peer tutor, Peer Led Team Learning leader, and was a teaching assistant. She worked with many of her peers, helping them through the tough introductory courses in the major. For the academic year of 2021-22, Ashwini was voted as the 'Best Peer Led Team Learning Leader'. Alongside schoolwork and academic tutoring, she worked in a research lab at UCSF studying cell cycle timing in fruit flies, and devoted many hours to leading a student organization called the Club for Neuroscience Students. She has also had experience mentoring high schoolers through a volunteer organization called AINAK. This organization worked in the Bay Area to provide eye glasses and eye care to underserved groups, and as a volunteer, Ashwini helped the younger volunteers design and create marketing materials.

Ashwini believes strongly that a good tutor and mentor is one who can go beyond the scope of a classroom. As a person who has not enjoyed some past experiences with after-school tutoring, she works hard to make her sessions a more pleasant and fun environment. Learning is an incredibly valuable experience, and a mentor is one who helps with understanding each concept at a deeper level. She also believes in getting to know a student at a deeper level and reiterating the importance of having a study plan to efficiently achieve goals.

Outside of school, lab, and work, Ashwini loves to dance, read, and explore cafes around her area. She has been training in Indian classical dance for over 15 years. In high school, she had the opportunity to perform a two hour solo performance with live music. She also loves to read! Her favorite genres would be Romance and Fantasy/Sci Fi :)
