Catherine Dugoni graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in both English Literature and Media Studies. She is an accomplished communications and marketing professional, who has helped facilitate interviews and stories for clients within publications such as Ebony, The LA Times, Ad Age, and AdWeek. This summer, she’ll be attending Columbia’s Publishing and Digital Media Course, where she’ll spend time pursuing her passion of working within the publishing industry.

Catherine believes that the right mentor should help unlock a student’s fullest creative writing potential. While working in public relations and communications, she learned that every person and business has their own story to tell. She takes this same approach with her students, helping them to find the parts of their lives that they are most passionate about and then to shape these passions into the best written representation of themselves.

Born and raised in Sacramento, Catherine has spent time living in San Francisco and France, but will be spending this summer in New York City. An avid traveler, you can often find her planning her next great adventure and planning out itineraries for her friends and family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her extended family.
