Matt grew up in Los Angeles, California and found a passion for teaching in high school through tutoring fellow high school students in math. From there, he attended UCLA where he majored in Aerospace Engineering before completing his M.S. and Ph.D. at Stanford University.
During his time at Stanford, he taught over 500 undergraduate and graduate students and received five teaching awards from the Stanford School of Engineering and Aero/Astro Department. Even though he has moved on from his teaching and research role at Stanford to work as an engineer, Matt has always been drawn back to his passion for teaching. As an Academic Mentor, Matt believes that it is important to not only teach students, but to build strong relationships with them outside the classroom to unlock their full potential.
In his free time, Matt enjoys watching sports, going to the gym, attending trivia nights, and spending time with friends. He specializes in tutoring math, computer science and the SAT/ACT.
