Academic Mentorship
Based in Washington State, Milo holds a degree in Physics from the University of Washington. He worked in a large, decennial physics conference called Snowmass, helped conduct research, and lived abroad in Germany for over a year during his degree. Milo has a passion for scientific education: it’s his mission to increase clarity in scientific communication and to ensure that students learning or interested in learning science around the globe have access to the resources they need to succeed. Milo began tutoring physics and math after finishing his degree, having already provided countless hours of assistance and mentorship to other students.
With his background in highly mathematical physics, including quantum field theory, Milo brings a unique perspective to mentorship. He believes strongly in the idea that each complex problem is some combination of many simpler problems that anyone can tackle, and uses it to guide his approach with students. He enjoys watching students internalize patterns and use the knowledge they’ve built up to break down even the most difficult tasks.
Outside of mentoring, Milo is a polyglot with intermediate or better proficiency in five languages. He also composes music and does programming, creating indie video games and web applications from scratch. He finds joy in being part of the community everywhere hobbyist spaces allow it. He also plays tennis, table tennis, and soccer, having played competitive soccer throughout high school and occasionally coaching youth teams.
